Shared Governance

Benefis nurses use a system called shared governance that gives each nurse a voice in decision making. Our nurses are empowered by this structure, in which they participate in developing and improving clinical practice standards. Shared governance gives nurses ownership of their daily practice and ensures that patients receive the safest, most effective care.

Patient Experience

Patient experience happens with every patient during every encounter, every day. The patient perception of the experience is based on every moment we make to create the best experience possible. Every moment we make depends on the passion (our “why”) we have for our profession, our personal self-care and our organizational psychological safety. Quality patient care and patient safety is important to you, us, and the patient and shared governance is where your voice is heard concerning your unit/department practice for the most optimal quality care and patient safety can be had.

Safety

Benefis has zero tolerance for aggressive or violent patients or visitors, and we take your security seriously. All staff members are required to attend Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training, and our security team is always working toward enhancing and maintaining a safe and secure facility for all. You can be confident that you have the full support of the system when it comes to your safety.
